Rugby.

Another couldn't care less attitude today!

The red boat in this picture is adrift, just floating about the canal. It is a hire boat from the Ashby Boat Co.
We have phoned them about it, to be told there is nothing they can do.
The boat is on hire for a week, when the hirer's realise it is missing they will just have to find it again, wont they?
The curtains are all drawn shut and the ropes are hanging in the water.

I for one am not comfortable with that type of attitude, how do you know they are not aboard and in trouble? (gas fumes etc).

We will be keeping a close eye on that boat.

We fished the remaining needles out of the water today as the BW man didn't bother to yesterday.

I think we will be glad to leave here tomorrow, the fuel is now in the tank, the coal is on the roof and the ice has gone, so there is nothing to keep us here any longer.

Onward.

Until next time..........................

Why didn't you just tie it up again? that's what we do when we find a boat adrift on the cut, often the pins are still attached to the mooring ropes and hanging in the water.

Hi Brian & Diana,

Normally anyone would do that but you are on very thin ice if you do.

As soon as you touch that boat you are liable for anything that might then happen.
We have come across quite a few boats adrift and told BW, the first thing they tell you is not to retie the boat at any cost.

If the hire company couldnt be bothered about their own boat and hirers what is the point of putting yourself at risk?

Regards Chris.
