Rugby to Braunston. 3 Locks.

Yes, we are back here again..... Let me explain.

After the biggest firework display you have ever seen from nearly all of Rugby on Saturday night, plan "A" was to move off in the direction of Ansty come Sunday morning.

Once awoken by the rain being blasted on to the side of the boat by a very strong wind, plan "B" should have been the order of the day. Unfortunately we did not have a plan "B" so we rolled over and went back to sleep.

Much, much later the weather gave up and the decision was made to get to the water point, fill up, turn around and wing it from there. Ubique needed a good run to see if any of my attentions to the engine had made a difference, seemingly the best way to go was back in the direction of the boatyards where help could be sought if needed instead of ploughing on into the wilderness.

Off we went then, through the suburbs,

and back out into the country in what has turned out to be a glorious day.

See, every cloud does has a silver lining!

The late afternoon/early evening came on all too early today, to be chugging along again after being tied up for a week really was a breath of fresh air, whichever way you look at it.

The good old engine ran its heart out today with nary a murmur or glitch, the oil level remained the same all day. Fingers crossed, touch wood and let a black cat cross my path as soon as possible. No chance of a chimney sweep though, so I might look out for a postman instead.

Until next time................................
