I think I should explain why we are not on the Ashby at the moment, D was reading the map at the time and her right is different to my right.
Not really,......... it is just that we needed fuel and the nearest place was Nuneaton, which is past the junction, once there we thought lets just keep going and see whats down the next bit, we can always come back this way in a while.
Here's that tractor hurtling across his fields yesterday evening in clouds of dust. He had been seeding in such a rush it made me think that as the forecast was for rain tomorrow, does that make a difference?
Someone, who shall remain nameless, banged in seven of these Perch before it got too dark to see..................... Silence reigns aboard Ubique.
This morning proved to be very wet and windy as these sheep will testify, they are nearly all munching away whilst laying on the grass.
Creeping through the heart of Polesworth and beyond, we were treated to so many nice gardens to have a nose at.
We have picked some really good ones and will get some pictures on the way back.
The Leaves are mounting up along the towpath in abundance now.
I am having to clear the propeller at very regular intervals at the moment, this I have found can be done just by taking the engine out of gear, shaking the tiller from side to side and off we go again........simples.
These boats were all tucked away in a nice little cutting off of the main canal. That is a very nice little mooring area for the less itinerate boaters.
What a cracking looking golf course this is. Absolutely no one on it at all as we passed by. You cant help thinking that if we had our clubs aboard we could nip on there for a while and no one would know.
Crossing the Tame aqueduct just before Fazeley and looking that way, it is hard to believe that there is a main road and a huge trading estate through those trees, such is the seclusion of the canals.
Until next time...........................
