LLangollen.

A few more pictures from LLangollen.

We have stayed at the very top end of the canal for one night, it is £6 for 24 hours but you get electric hook up and all the water you want. Not bad at all compared to a camping site.

This is the first time we have been connected to the mains since setting off all those moons ago and it was a bit strange. We are used to conserving our power where possible and not wasting it, having electricity back "on tap" meant the immersion heater was left on, lights were on when they shouldn't have been, TV on with no one watching etc etc. All very wasteful really. If we lived in the house as we live aboard Ubique our energy bills would probably have halved.

The Welsh welcoming committee came to see us as we approached the end.
This canal gets so narrow at the top that only one boat at a time can pass. This meant that D had to walk on ahead to make sure no one was coming and to stop other boats before they got to the narrow bit. This was over 500mtrs, it was a good job we had our mobiles. This made me think of when someone had to walk ahead of a car with a red flag.

There is a horse drawn trip boat in LLangollen and it was this horses time for new shoes.

The back of this car contained a forge which was roaring away bringing the shoes up to glowing and an anvil fitted over the tow bar. The smoke and the smell when he put the red hot shoes on the horse was not for the faint hearted.

Here's D in a contemplative mood,

mind you this is what she was looking at!

More Ducks.............

A few more..........sooooooo cute.
Until tomorrow...................................

Soz Debs and Chris. Have to admit that I have not been on the blog for a while. Sounds and looks like that you are enjoying yourselves still. Still cycling a lot have a few big long races coming up in July 5/6 12 hoyr time trial, 26/27 July national 24 hour time trial race up Liverpool/Manchester way.
No sign of Stacies card but if you posted in a bottle it may take it's time to drift down this way. Stacey failed her driving test today (shame) but she has applied to take in again in mid June 2099 hahaha. Drop you a line later all the best,
Stu
