Ellesmere to Whitchurch to Wrenbury. 7 Locks 7 Lift bridges and a staircase revisited.

Wind, wind every day and not a stop will it.

The wind at the moment has been blowing up to a gale for over a week now and is causing some boaters to give up and go home. We on the other hand are charging back down the LLangollen at a steady 3 miles an hour to leave the canal before the rush kicks in.

This was interesting, a patio in the making perhaps? The owner was leaning out of his hatch when I took this and asked why I was photographing his ballast. It turned out those bricks were keeping the boat on an even keel. Putting them down below might improve his chances of getting out of the front doors.
This seemed to be a very popular bridge to hit. That gouge line in the brick work has been made by so many hits with the roof panel of various boats. That poor old paintwork!

Sheltering amongst the trees again for tonight, this seems a very nice spot to moor but even as I am typing this bits of the trees are being blown quite hard onto the roof.

We should be at the bottom tomorrow, then there will be the big decision as to where we are off to next.

So until then.................
