Nuneaton To The Elephant And Castle, (Yes Really). 1 Stop Lock.

The wind blew and the rain fell....and so started another day.

Leaving Nuneaton and it's myriad of allotments - they have hundreds of them along the canal - it was such a shame to see all that food going to waste.
I'm sure everyone had good intentions at the start of the growing season but there is tons of food on that land being left to rot.

Turning onto the Oxford Canal at Hawkesby Junction/Sutton Stop after a peaceful cruise
along the Coventry we became aware of a continuous roar in the background.

This is not the first time we have been through here and we know the M6 is close at hand but for the life of us we cannot remember it being this noisy.
We have moored for the night on a mooring we have used twice before in the past and we are now looking at each other wondering..... what were we thinking?

Perhaps we were hardened to the noise down this way and it didn't bother us, or perhaps this way of life is changing us.
Searching out the gem spots of the country where we would rather move on for another couple of hours than be subjected to mowers and screaming kids could be having a lasting effect.

I've got two mowers and the screaming kids are now screaming "adults", been there done that.

Until next time..............I said, until next time.........
