Elephant And Castle To Newbold, Then Onto (And Past) Rugby.

I get a little bit miffed!

Moving on from the noise of our overnight mooring we found even more noise as the M6 runs alongside the canal until Ansty.
At Ansty the M69 takes over the challenge to ruin your eardrums and just when you think you are clear of it all, the high speed rail link joins the canal until Newbold.

All in all the North Oxford is a nice canal to cruise, all you need is a huge pair of ear muffs to get the full benefit out of it.

Sunday morning brought some welcome sunshine with it, but it also brought out droves of other boats.
We were forced to join in as the line of boats was continuous and we had to get to the Rugby Tesco at some time today.

Through the high speed time portal that is the Newbold Tunnel........

We exited into a world of bygone boats, I think this was the start of a rally or something at least I hope it was the start as there were quite a few unoccupied  moorings that had reserved signs on them.

We dropped out of the line at Rugby where we were quite surprised that we could get in to moor.
Story time:

Whilst D took the shopping back to the boat I went over to the garage to fetch a couple of gallons of liquid Platinum for the generator.
To get to this garage you have to cross four lanes of traffic with a central island and no Zebra crossing....... it normally takes a long time.

I had begun my wait when lo and behold a young woman appeared by my side with a few tight clothes on (20ish), the traffic stood on its nose in its haste to stop and off she went.

It didn't register straight away as to what had just happened so I was a couple of seconds behind her as the traffic on the other side also stopped dead and she nipped across, as I went over they were already starting to move off again. Charming!

She wasn't there when I went back and it took ages again.

Miffed.........

A nice mooring in the country for us today with a golf course on one side and a few of these old English Longhorns on the other.

Until next time.......................
