Hoping for this run of bad luck to end, and an alien comes a calling.
At Alrewas we thought we might stay for a day and get some well needed polishing done.
This was just not to be, a plastic cruiser arrived late in the night and moored touching our stern.
Eight in the morning and he starts his little whining outboard - which he is perfectly entitled to do, no running from eight pm til eight am is the rule - three hours later and we had had enough so off we went.
This is yet another example of the ignorance of some of the boaters around here.
We made our way along and were very surprised when we had a very easy time of it at Fradley Junction. We were through the locks and away meeting only one boat coming the other way.
Moving on to the Coventry canal and it was not too long before normality - in the shape of smiling happy boaters - returned.
Not wanting to go too far we moored at a nice looking little place named Whittington on the towpath side of a row of houses.
The high speed rail line and heavy freight line were not all that intrusive so we settled out on the cratch to while away the rest of the day in the sun.
That was when the first of the many mowers started up, then the strimmers joined in and then the screaming grandchildren arrived to visit......... Off we go again!
We did eventually get moored out in the country and here we have stayed, a lovely polished Ubique is the result with nice shiny brasswork.
A visitor arrived.........
There is never a Sigourney Weaver around when you want one is there?
A quick photo shoot, then we had to remove the top window to get it out.
Until next time..................................
