Wigan To Leigh. 3 Locks.

Lets get out of here..........

Returning to Ubique after a trip into town, we found her laying over at a bit of an alarming angle.
This turned out to be no water in the pound (Area of water between locks) syndrome.

Two sets of boats had passed through and that was just about it for the available water.
We are getting very fed up with this now as we have got to change our whole summer plan and return down south and therefore back to the melee of marina based boats that clog the waterways every weekend and through the holiday season.

The amount of water that was flowing down the Wigan flight through the overflow weirs when we came down was ludicrous to say the least, where did it all go?

Any one from BW care to comment?

This is the Orwell pub that now inhabits one of the warehouses at Wigan Pier,

and this is what used to be the museum in the warehouse opposite the "Pier" itself. The pub is doing so much better.

After a lot of water balancing we got ourselves re floated and I reversed back to the lock where the waterpoint is actually in a building that is in the lock itself.

That is not a hosepipe you can see, look into my eyes, not around my eyes.............

Dropping through the two Poolstock locks and we were free from the nonsense, now we might be able to get on with enjoying the canals again.

Until next time........................
