Braunston....ish to Rugby.
3 Locks.

Whoaaaa, this particular morning caught us napping in a big way, a very big and cold way!

We had seen the weather guessers theory as to what might be going to happen in the night, minus two to minus three with some ground frost was their opinion.

We actually woke up to minus six on our thermometer, we had let the fire burn itself out in the late evening and did not have the central heating on, well.....minus two to three is not a problem when you are under the duvet.

You should have seen the ice inside the boat, I had to use a few matches on the door locks just to get out to the coal bag, but....... one hour later with the central heating well away and the fire roaring we were as warm as toast again.

The canal had frozen over but only quite thinly and the passing of another boater cleared a path through.

A few pictures of the morning whiteness, enjoy........hopefully as much as we did.

Until next time................................
