Clarence Dock.

40 a day is too many to smoke.

Tucked up here in the basin amongst the apartment blocks is not the ideal place for Ubique to start smoking again, but smoking she is, rather like a trooper.

We have been doing what we can but after a quick two hours along the river she is still as bad.
This looks like the oily overalls are going on tomorrow and I am going in........with spanners clenched in teeth.

Nature can be kind sometimes. This collection of twigs on the lock gate is a Moorhens nest, note the water level, the water should be way over that nest but the levels are so seriously low at the moment,

she has even managed to raise some chicks. The only problem being is one good rain fall and they will be washed off of the gate.

Should we get the engine fixed, our next problem will be getting back down south.
The Leeds Liverpool is on restricted lock opening times already and in one place the locks are closed completely with BW using mobile pumps to try to get some water through.

They seem to be praying for rain....... and lots of it. I cant help wondering where all that melted snow water went?

Until next time..............................
