Off we went into a dry overcast but warm day, and guess what?
Wonders upon wonders it didn't rain all day, we got a full six hours chugging in as neither of us wanted to stop.
This is more like it, back out on the cruise. There are boats everywhere along here at the moment and it can seem like dodgems at times but who cares when its dry.
There is even a man towing his shed, that little Butty Boat was full of bikes, plants and everything else you would find in your wooden hut at home.
Passing through a place named Armitage we came across this huge factory of old and new buildings, it was so big we couldn't get it all in the picture.
Now if you add "Shanks" to the place name I bet there are not many people who can't guess what they make there.
Coming into Fradley Junction there was a sort of holiday camp atmosphere in the air, this is the most people (Gongoozlers) we have seen so far at a lock. They seem to want to get involved with pushing and pulling the gates and doing anything else they can to help.
We don't mind that at all but some boaters wont have any help and can get surprisingly cross with the people offering.
Each to their own.
Moving up to the junction the pub was packed and even had a boat moored outside, selling of all things......... Umbrellas.
Probably been doing a roaring trade recently.
Having made the turn onto the Coventry there were boats strung alongside for as far as you could see, this is the great British BBQ in progress.
An airstrip complete with windsock ending right at the canal edge, whatever takes off and lands here cant afford to make a mistake.
Aha, now we know.
Quick, take a picture says I, there it is.
Oops.
Until tomorrow...................................................
